Bus Routes and School Zones
McKinney
ISD and Durham School Services utilize a program called Transfinder that provides students and parents information about bus
routes and pick-up and drop-off times and locations.
Individuals can enter in their home address and the program will
provide bus service information for the appropriate elementary,
middle and high school.
Home
addresses that receive a "No information available" response means:
1. Either
the address is within the two mile walk
zone and the student is not eligible for bus transportation or -
2. The address
submitted is not currently on an active bus route or stop.
The Texas
Education Agency guidelines specify the following as appropriate
distances for a child to walk from home to their bus stop:
Elementary Students - 0.1 to 0.25 miles
Secondary Students - 0.25 to 0.5 miles
In general, it is considered as a "10 minute walk". For comparison,
0.25 miles equals the distance of 4.4 football fields.
In an effort to provide the best possible service to our community,
Durham School Services often provides shorter distances for your
child to walk to their bus stop.

Additional information regarding Durham School
Services:
Times posted through the Transfinder program reflect the regularly scheduled
times the bus will normally arrive at each individual stop in good
weather, and normal traffic flow. Inclement weather, traffic
congestion, or construction may cause delays in regularly posted
stop times. Students are asked to be at
their assigned bus stop five minutes before their scheduled time to
load.
The information provided by Transfinder is for the 2007-2008 school year only.
Routes are subject to change throughout the school year and
bus drivers will attempt to notify all riders of these upcoming
changes, as they become necessary.
