Secondary Summer School

Form
McKinney
ISD will offer a variety of courses for sixth grade and beyond. At least 10
students must enroll in the class by May 30 before it is offered in
summer school. Each three-week session is equivalent to one semester of
credit.
High
School Programming:
The High School students can take online courses for credit recovery
or acceleration for a cost of $200 per six weeks course or they can
attend an on-site version of summer school for a cost of $200 per
3-week session. Note each on-site session equals one semester of
credit.
Students MUST have prior counselor approval to take the online
version of summer school. There is limited availability for this
program.
Middle
School Programming:
The cost is $125
per session for Middle School students.
Basic Information
On-site
Summer School will include two, three-week sessions:
Session I—June 16—July 7, 2008 (no classes July 4th)
Session II—July 8—July 28, 2008
Sessions will be held: Monday—Friday, 8:30 a.m. to
2:00 p.m.

Bus transportation for summer school will be provided for MISD students from
the elementary campus nearest to their home. Bus route information
will be available soon.
On-line
summer school students will have the registered session only to complete a course.
Students taking on-line courses are required to attend an instructional
meeting on one of the dates listed below to educate them on the procedures
for taking an on-line course. All meeting times are 4:30 – 6:00. Lab space
will be made available for those students who do not have technology at
home.

Registration Information
Registration is due by May 30th to
your campus bookkeeper.
Late registration will be accepted on-site (McKinney North High
School) on Friday, June 13 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Add
$10.00 late fee.
Transportation Information
Bus transportation for
summer school will be provided for MISD students from the elementary
campus nearest to their home.
Refunds
The final day for
refunds is the end of the first day of class (June 16 or July 8).
Refunds are not given for disciplinary removals.
Allow 2 weeks for processing.
Attendance
A
student taking the on-site version of summer school on the high
school level must attend a minimum of 90% of the days in each
session in order to receive credit.

**Students
enrolled in
Economics or Government will be required to take a proctored exam.
The exam for each class will be offered twice during the semester.
Administations will be held at 4:30 in the board room at central office. The
dates for the exam are as follows:
