Advanced Academics at MISD is part of the Department of Curriculum and Instruction. It encompasses the areas of Advanced Placement and Pre-Advanced Placement and College readiness assessments.
The Coordinator for Advanced Academics provides services to students within the Advanced Placement programs and AVID. The position facilitates all College Readiness assessments on the secondary level, and collaborates with The College Board and ACT Educational Services.
The department of Advanced Academics strives to facilitate a viable 21st century program in support of an excellent and equitable instructional environment. It is designed to serve and support determined learners and all students that strive to advance and challenge their academic potential.
