General Enrollment Information

Parents can enroll their students during a current school year by visiting the school the student is zoned for. This is determined by the student's physical home address. Please review the current school zone maps through the links below to determine which school a child is zoned for.

Kindergarten

Students can enroll in kindergarten in McKinney ISD if they are five years old on or before Sept. 1 of the upcoming school year. For example, for a student to enroll in kindergarten for the 2009-2010 school year, they must be five years old on or before Sept. 1, 2009.

Requirements needed to enroll
The following information is required for new students to enroll in McKinney ISD schools.

1. Proof of Residency (Must be a current utility bill, gas, water or electric, house contract with closing date and/or lease with signatures. A driver's license will not be accepted as proof of residency).

2. Student's social security card (otional)

3. Student's Birth Certificate

4. Updated shot records

5. Secondary students should have a copy of their school transcripts when registering

Grade Level Caps

McKinney ISD is one of the fastest growing school districts in the state. Therefore, it is not uncommon for grade levels to become full at campuses in fast-growth areas. Therefore, students moving into an area in which the grade level is capped may be asked to attend another school.
