Dick Stevens was elected to Place 4 on the MISD Board in 2008.
Mr. Stevens has been a Financial Advisor with Edward Jones in McKinney for almost 10 years. Throughout his business life, he has owned several successful small businesses. He also been a Real Estate Manager for Newmarket Grunnah Cole Co., a Real Estate Manager for Bright Bank & the RTC and a Sr. Vice President of Land Development and Commercial Brokerage for the Henry S. Miller Co. (and Grubb & Ellis Co) in Collin County.
Mr. Stevens who is a life long resident of the Dallas area graduated from Kimball High School in Dallas and then earned his Bachelor's Degree with Cum Laude honors in Marketing and Accounting from the University of North Texas. He also attended graduate school at UNT and the SMU School Of Law.
Mr. Stevens has had a passion in serving the McKinney Community with many civic activities including serving on the McKinney Planning & Zoning Commission, on the McKinney ISD Long Range Facilities Planning Committee, on the MISD Five Year Strategic Planning Team, on the McKinney Main Street Organization Committee, as the Main Street Membership Chair, as the McKinney Rotary Student Of The Month Chair and as a long time member of the McKinney YMCA Board of Directors. Dick was named in 2005 as the "Winstead Volunteer of the Year" by the Dallas Metro YMCA organization for the McKinney area. Dick and his family are active members of Stonebridge UMC.
Dick and his wife Lori have three children. Bart is Financial Advisor in Kerrville, TX;, Michelle is a CPA in Dallas and Robert will be graduating from MNHS in 2009. Robert will attend and play football for the Hardin Simmons Cowboys in Abilene, TX. Dick's father, Steve Stevens has been a successful local McKinney business leader and along with wife Linda has lived in McKinney since the early 90s. Dick's mom, Marie Ryan, also lives in McKinney and is an active volunteer in the community.
