Bobby Amick

Bobby, a twelve-year resident of McKinney, is a local attorney with the law firm, Francis Orr & Totusek, LLP, where his practice focuses on commercial disputes and transactions.

He is further involved in his community as an active member at Crosspoint Church. Bobby’s involvement within McKinney ISD includes serving as a mentor to a student at Press Elementary School through the District’s affiliation with 3e, a local non-profit, and being a recent graduate of McKinney CAN. Bobby has a heart for the students of McKinney ISD and is looking forward to working with the Board to create new opportunities for student achievement throughout the District.

Before his current position with Francis Orr & Totusek, LLP, Bobby began his law career at a large Dallas firm where he worked on a variety of commercial disputes. After moving his practice to McKinney he has been able to combine his vocation with his avocation by assisting local junior high school students in Collin County’s annual mock trial competition. He is a current member of the Dallas and Collin County Bar Associations and is an associate in the newly formed Curt B. Henderson Inn of Court.

Bobby’s education and experience include a Bachelors of Science in Industrial Engineering from Northwestern University, which was followed by two deployments to the Middle and Far East as an officer in the U.S. Navy. After completing his military service, Bobby obtained a general securities license (Series 7, 63), and later attended law school at Baylor University, where he received his Juris Doctor, magna cum laude.

Bobby and his wife of twenty years, Mindy, have three children – two attend McKinney Boyd High School, and one attends Faubion Middle School. Mindy serves as a campus secretary at a Title I elementary school in McKinney and shares Bobby’s labor of love for, and vested interest in, McKinney ISD.

Bobby has a heart for McKinney ISD gained through his longstanding involvement in the lives of teachers and students alike. As a Trustee, he is looking forward to furthering the District’s long list of achievements and to working alongside the community as well as the other members of the Board to seize new opportunities for excellence.
