DONATION OF FOOTBALL EQUIPMENT

MISD is committed to the safety of all athletes. All football equipment issued by MISD is of the highest standard and has the NOCSAE (National Operating Committee on Standards for Athletic Equipment) certified seal. However, the Athletic Department realizes that at times a player, parent, wants a MISD student/athlete to wear a different helmet/shoulder pad than what the school provides.

In response to this, MISD has established the following procedure:

If a parent feels there is a need for a child to use a different helmet/shoulder pad than the style furnished by the District, they will go through the following steps:

Meet with the Middle School Coordinator/High School Equipment Coordinator to determine the helmet/shoulder pad and price.

The parent will pay the District the price of the equipment at the time of order.

The equipment must be purchased through MISD. Equipment cannot be bought, and then given to MISD.

The equipment must be retained by MISD throughout the duration of its use. Only the designated athlete may use this equipment.

Once the equipment is out grown or no longer used for UIL competition, by the designated athlete, it is given to the parent/athlete.

Any additional equipment worn by the athlete must be approved by the Coordinator.
