Athletic Director's Message

The 2006-2007 school year saw another successful year of athletic competition in McKinney ISD. The athletic accomplishments at our high schools included many district championships, play-off teams and state qualifiers. Numerous individual district, regional and state winners continued to represent McKinney ISD with style and class. Our middle schools continued to be successful in their district competition while significantly increasing participation in all sports.

As we started new traditions at McKinney Boyd High School and continued the building of tradition at McKinney High and McKinney North, the "McKinney Way" continues to be apparent.

McKinney ISD encourages all students to participate in extra-curricular programs whether it is academics, fine arts, athletics or any member of University Interscholastic League programs. It is the mission of the McKinney ISD Athletic Department to supplement the educational program of those students who exhibit an interest in providing a forum for them to challenge their physical, mental, and emotional capabilities.

The McKinney ISD offers full range of competitive athletics, fielding 250 teams and 4,070 events for more than 5,200 student athletes. This includes McKinney High, McKinney North, McKinney Boyd as well as Dowell, Faubion, Scott Johnson and Evans Middle Schools. The coaching staffs on all seven campuses are dedicated to the ideals of work ethic, sportsmanship, character development and positive attitudes that are essential in any athletic program.

Please know how privileged I am to continue to be a part of a community and team that does everything with class and integrity with a focus on developing each student's potential.

Thank you again and I look forward to working with each of you. If I can help in any way, please do not hesitate to contact me.
