Departmental Responsibilities

The McKinney ISD encourages all students to participate in extra-curricular programs whether it is Academics, Fine Arts, Athletics or any other number of U.I.L. (University Interscholastic League) programs. As the McKinney area continues to grow, the participation within the MISD athletic programs increase as well. It is the mission of the McKinney ISD Athletic Department to supplement the educational process of those students who exhibit an interest in providing a forum for themselves to challenge their physical and emotional capabilities. The goals of the athletic program is to provide our students with the opportunity to pursue and understand the value of attitude, commitment, responsibility, accountability work ethic and team. A consistent and comprehensive program is vital in establishing the day-to-day procedures that are necessary in order for students to be successful. It is also the vision of the McKinney ISD Department of Athletics and the campus staff to make every effort to ensure that these traits are included in the curriculum of all our sports programs and that they are taught and monitored consistently.
