McKinney ISD Advanced Placement/Pre-Advanced Placement Class Information

Recently the MISD Board approved a revision to EIC (LOCAL) policy related to academic achievement class ranking and weighted grades.  Beginning with the 2007-2008 freshman class, Advanced Placement (AP) and Pre Advanced Placement (Pre AP) courses will be weighted differently.  The purpose of this change is to distinguish between the rigor of the curriculum and assessments in Advanced Placement courses.  Previously, AP and Pre AP courses had been weighted the same.  Please review the 2007-2008 MISD Blue Print for descriptions for all Pre AP and AP courses.

The Board policy has been attached for you to review.  This change does not affect current 2006-2007 MISD students in grades 9-12.
