Jose De Jesus & Maria Luisa Cardenas De Vega Elementary

Wendy Tiemann became the principal at Vega Elementary School in 2006. Prior to coming to Vega, Ms. Tiemann was the assistant principal at Bennett Elementary School, also in the McKinney Independent School District. She has also served as the associate principal of McKinney High School and spent three years as an assistant principal of Faubion Middle School. Ms. Tiemann has taught multiple subjects while serving as a teacher at Reuben Johnson Elementary School, at Broken Arrow Public Schools in Oklahoma and in Waller ISD. She was twice nominated for teacher of the year and has co-authored ten literature studies to enhance the reading curriculum. Ms. Tiemann received a Bachelor of Arts degree in teaching from Sam Houston State University and a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University at Commerce.
