McKinney ISD Tutoring
Program
McKinney ISD is in search of quality tutors to provide support and
resources to the staff and students of McKinney ISD for the
2007-2008 school year. Studies have
shown that students that have tutorial support with academics tend
to be more successful in school. When a child needs help with
assignments, it is an opportunity for an adult to make a
difference in that child's life.
With this in mind,
McKinney ISD developed a new tutoring program for secondary students
that pays adults who contribute their time and efforts to tutor
students.

Teachers and other school staff members count on tutors to be
resources and colleagues, complementary to the faculty rather than
additions to the student body. While teachers may want to supplement
your tutor training with specifics related to the workings of their
individual classrooms or other tutorial settings, it is incumbent
upon tutors to enter the classroom prepared to act as a supplement
to the teacher, knowledgeable about the expectations teachers have
for tutors.
