SJMS HISTORY

The girls have made JMS HISTORY this year in more than one way!

First, and what is SO cool is that as a team, they won EVERY meet that they participated in this season! That has NEVER happened!! Secondly, and just as neat, is that the girls have captured the FIRST District Championship in Track for JMS! And, to top it off, it was done by only 10 girls!! (at the qualifier meet, only the top 4 finishers of each event made it to the district meet, so, even though we, as a team, WON the qualifier meet, only 10 girls qualified for the district meet by placing 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th in their event).

Here are the results for the district meet:

High Jump:
1st Place: Mawi Berkhadley 5'0" (new school record and personal best!!)
4th Place: Audrey Wiggins 4'6"

Long Lump:
1st Place: Mawi Berkhadley 15'2" (personal best!)
6th Place: Marleigh Essler 14'6" (personal best!)

2400m Run
3rd Place Allie Coleman 9:07 (her personal best!)

300 Hurdles
4th Place: Hailey Hunt 53.34 (personal best!)
5th Place: Marleigh Essler 54.30

800m Run
2nd Place (photo finish!) Mawi Berkhadley 2:33 (new school record!!)

100m Hurdles
3rd Place: Jocelyn Muff 17.61 (personal best!)

200m Dash
4th Place: Megan Matlock 28.07

1600m Run
2nd Place: Allie Coleman 5:48 (personal best!)

100m Dash
3rd Place: Megan Matlock 13.38

800m Relay (Mawi Berkhadley, Anna Scales, Audrey Wiggins, Megan Matlock)
2nd place (photo finish!) 1:54

Mile Relay (Mawi Berkhadley, Anna Scales, Jackie Bucy, and Hailey Hunt)
1st place and a new school record 4:23!! (previous record was 4:29!)
