The History of Faubion

Faubion Middle School has a history of triumphs and defeats.  Through it all the Lion Pride has remained.  Faubion students have always had a pride in their school that is unmistakable in any place.   These students are proud of their accomplishments and strive for the best they can be.  Faubion Middle School is built on three qualities: honor, truth, and trust.

These 3 words are inlaid in arches in the courtyard.

Faubion Middle School was built in 1958, and was originally the McKinney High School campus.  When the high school moved to their new location in 1986, Faubion was turned into a middle school.

The Front Wall coming into Faubion

Starting in 1991, Faubion underwent major renovations.  Many students were taught in portable buildings across the street from Faubion.  In the 1998-1999 school year, the renovations were finally finished.   There was a rededication ceremony sponsored by the P.T.O. in support of the new building.  Parents, friends, students, former students, and community members were allowed to tour the school.  Many saw the expanded cafeteria, the freshly painted classrooms, the new wing, the new gym, and the renewed pride of the staff and students.   Most people could not help missing the Walkway of Pride.  It is a new walkway constructed of memorial bricks.
