PTO Committees

COMMUNITY OUTREACH/CIS: Liaison with student service organizations and “Communities in School” to provide support for our “At Risk” student population.

PROGRAMS: Coordinate educational programs for both students and parents throughout the school year such as the “Aim for Success” abstinence program.

VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR: Recruit and place volunteers throughout the school year for Faubion committees and events. Compile volunteer hours and work with MISD Volunteer Coordinator.

“PTO PARLOR” NEWSLETTER EDITOR: Monthly parent newsletter. Volunteers report, collect, write and edit articles as well as copy and collate newsletter to mail.

MEMBERSHIP: Coordinate membership drive and compile database.

TEACHER APPRECIATION: Plan and coordinate expressions of appreciation for our staff throughout the school year such as providing food for teacher meetings/events.

WELCOME/HOSPITALITY: Welcome new students and their families. Provide refreshments for meetings/events.

PTO DIRECTORY: A booklet of the PTO Membership that includes student & parent names, street & email addresses, phone numbers and other important information.

PUBLICITY: Work with MISD to send information out to the media. Coordinate the marquee, bulletin board, etc. Contribute articles to the newsletter.

STUDENT RECOGNITION: Work with teachers and staff to promote student recognition at Faubion such as the Lion’s Pride Award.

Sixth GRADE WELCOME: “Too Cool for School” day. Coordinate a fun, team building event for our 6^th Graders the first or second week of school.

Eighth GRADE FAREWELL: Program and dance honoring our 8th Graders at the end of the year.
