The McKinney Boyd High School Wind Ensemble is the first organization from the city of McKinney to receive an invitation to perform at the annual Arts Education Day at the Capitol.

HONOR CORD PICK UP
Students who did not attend the Academic Excellence ceremony last week can come by to pick up their honor cords this week. They need to see Mrs. Patton or Mrs. Clayton in room J203.

Late Bus
Just a reminder that we have a late bus every Tuesday and Thursday that picks students up at 5:40 p.m. in the front of the school and drops them off at the nearest elementary school to their home.  This is to help any student who needs a ride home after tutorials, practice or detentions.
2009 Yearbook Orders

Yearbooks can now be pre-ordered. Fill out the ORDER FORM and mail it in with payment or order online with a credit card and be entered for a drawing to win a PlayStation 3. Orders will not be collected at the school, so the form or website are the two ordering options. Books will arrive near the end of May.

Want to Shape the Future of McKinney ISD?

Learn more about how you can get involved in the long range strategic planning process.

Over the next few months, McKinney ISD will be engaged in an exciting Strategic Planning process - a course of action moving the McKinney schools toward the next phase of planning.

A 30-member committee of parents, teachers, administrators, auxiliary staff, and members of the business community has been put in place to draft the Strategic Plan. This plan will include beliefs, a mission objective, and strategies. Specific action plans will follow, designed to achieve the strategies identified in the Strategic Plan. The finalized plan will ultimately be presented to the Superintendent of Schools and the Board of Trustees for approval.

We need your help? Action teams are being sought to develop the specific action plans, formed for each strategy. Each team will reflect a cross-section of the school system and the community. This is the most critical step in the planning process. If you are interested in learning more, or to volunteer, please click here http://www.mckinneyisd.net/departments/communications/aboutmisd/strategicplan/index.html.  A volunteer submission form is included on the site.

For additional information visit the website link above, or contact Tina Davis, McKinney ISD Coordinator of Strategic Planning at tdavis@mckinneyisd.net or 469-742-4160.
