New Elementary and Middle Schools in McKinney ISD
 

The McKinney Independent School District is scheduled to open two new elementary schools in the fall of 2007 and one new middle school in the fall of 2008. 

New Elementary Schools - 2007

Jesse McGowen Elementary School is scheduled to open in the fall of 2007 and will be located off of Columbus Drive between Hardin Blvd. and Lake Forest Drive.

Naomi Press Elementary School is also scheduled to open in the fall of 2007. The location of the school is north of Bloomdale, east of I-75 and West of Highway 5.

On Tuesday, April 3, the MISD Board of Trustees approved a new elementary school rezoning plan. Click here to view the approved redistribution of students plan.

New Middle School - 2008

Jack Cockrill Middle School will be the district's fifth middle school and will be constructed near the intersection of Hardin Blvd. and White Ave., just south of Highway 380. The City of McKinney is schedule to expand Hardin Blvd. from Virginia Pkwy. to Hwy. 380 and Cockrill Middle School will be located near the intersection of White Ave. and Hardin once Hardin is complete.

New school zones for middle school students will be reviewed after January 1, 2008.

There are no current projections on future rezoning at the high school level.
