McKinney ISD Paid Tutor Program

McKinney ISD is in search of quality tutors to provide support and resources to the staff and students of McKinney ISD. Studies have shown that students that have tutorial support with academics tend to be more successful in school. When a child needs help with assignments, it is an opportunity for the an adult to make a difference in that child's life.

With this in mind, McKinney ISD developed a new tutoring program for secondary students that pays adults who contribute their time and efforts to tutor students. Click here for more information about the MISD Paid Tutor Program.

Mr. Spann served as the Coppell ISD Executive Director of Business and Support Services for one year. Prior to serving in this role, Mr. Spann was the principal at Coppell High School from 1998 to 2006. The majority of his career was spent in Plano ISD as a principal, assistant principal, teacher, and coach. He served as the principal at R.C. Clark High School, principal at Robinson Middle School, and six years as an assistant principal at Plano Senior High School. Mr. Spann has over 30 years of experience in education.

Mr. Spann earned a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science from East Texas State University. He has also served as the President, Executive Officer, and on the Board of Directors for the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Texas Association for Student Councils, Texas Association of Future Educators, and Texas Business and Education Coalition.

While serving as the principal of Coppell High School for eight years, Coppell High School was named a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence, was named as one of America’s Best High Schools in Newsweek Magazine, and was named to “D” Magazine’s Best Public Schools list in 2003 and 2006. Mr. Spann is married to wife Vickie, and they have two daughters.
